Welcome Tormach Users!
The TCTUG is a group of Tormach Owners, primarily in the Twin Cities area of Minneapolis and Saint Paul, Minnesota who have gotten together to trade tips, ideas and knowledge about their Tormachs.
How did TCTUG form?
A few Tormach owners connected on CNCZone.com and decided to meet and get together at an owners house to see the Tormach ATC in action on a 770 on January 12, 2013. After a few hours of talking and watching the ATC at work, it was mentioned that some sort of user group might be beneficial for everyone. One of the founding members of the group took it upon himself to talk with Tormach about the idea. They have supported us in our endeavours from the inception of the idea. To this we say, Thank You to Tormach!
What is our Goal?
Our goal is to have a group of owners get together and share ideas, techniques and knowledge about everything from running their Tormachs, the kind of projects people are using their machines for, and even how to do programming with thier CAM packages. You name it, and we hope to be able to cover it! We also want to be a place for people who are interested in seeing a Tormach before they buy, and just giving potential new owners the opportunity meet others and get more information on the machine they are considering buying.
What kind of experience do TCTUG members have?
They sky is the limit! At our first meeting, we had people who made everything from jewelry, woodworking lathes, woodturning tools, pens, camera accessores and even mud motors for shallow draft marsh boats! One of the owners even uses his Tormach to fix farm equipment on a daily basis!
Some of our members have their own products that they produce, some are prototype and job shops. The skill sets of the members of TCTUG is varied and everyone has different and unique things they do with their equipment.
